Psychotherapist, private practice; Group Process Facilitator and Supervisor, GTIP
Sarah began a second career as a therapist just short of her 50th birthday. She earned her degree in mental health counseling from Capella University. She has been working as a therapist for the past 7 years in private practice in Southern New Jersey where she specializes in working with trans and gender non-confirming youth and their familes. Because of her late start in the field, Sarah leapt at the chance to supplement her graduate school training with Gestalt training. She graduated from GTIP in 2016. Gestalt Therapy Theory offers a chance for Sarah to tap into her experience in theater, fine art and youth development to co-create experiments and experiences with her clients. She is interested in deepening her understanding of somatic therapy and is trained as a trauma informed yoga instructor. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys encaustic painting, yoga, hiking, biking, and various fiber crafts. As a child, she dreamed of becoming a roller skating mail delivery person but finds therapy to be a pretty wonderful runner up career.
