Educational Background

David is a graduate of Hobart and William Smith Colleges and the Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research. He holds a certificate from the Gestalt Psychotherapy and Training Center of NY and studied with Sonia March Nevis, PhD of the Gestalt International Studies Center for over 25 years.

Professional Experience

David was one of the Founders of GTIP and was a Co-Executive Director there for 35 years. He continues to serve on the GTIP Faculty and Board of Directors. He is in private practice at GKSW/Crystal Group Associates in Wyndmoor, PA, where he treats adults, couples and families. His areas of study include racism, diversity, major illness, grief, trauma, addictions and therapeutic use of humor. He has taught psychotherapists at the Gestalt Associates for Psychotherapy (NY), the Family Institute of Philadelphia and the PA Department of Health/Emergency Preparedness. He has worked at Philadelphia State Hospital, Fox Chase Cancer Center, a methadone detox program and a half-way house for persons recently paroled.

About Me

I have been working in mental health and studying Gestalt Therapy Theory for over 50 years. I still love both. I know that I’m very lucky. I also love this Institute, and I’m grateful to all the people who have contributed to what it has become.
